Good News

  • Sister Chenoweth - has been accepted to BYU and will be moving south for campus living in January.
  • Sister Winchell - Her son just turned 5.
  • Sister D. Perkins - Glad to be home!
  • Sister Schlechter - Erik just received his mission call to New York.
  • Sister Dryer - Moving in a week.

Sisters,

There is no RS newsletter this week, but there are several things you should be aware of, so I will put them all together here. Please be sure to let me know if you have good news you would like to have announced in the future.

Good news:
  • Sister Peek's family is moving back to North Carolina, so when she is released from her mission, that is where she will go. This is good news for her, because she loved living there before.
  • Sister Ruth Cunningham is back in RS after having served in the Nursery for a long time.
  • Sister Tena Williams' son and his family, who are stationed at Fort Hood, are safe and well after the tragedy that took place there this past week.
Service Opportunities:
  • Sister Lolita Cook needs help with cleaning on Wednesday morning at 10:00. She and her family are leaving on Sunday for there move to North Carolina.
  • The Activity Day girls are planning on assembling 10 or so boxes for operation Christmas Child and would appreciate donations of school supplies, small toys, hygiene items and money for shipping ($7 per box). Watch for a complete list of what is needed in next week's newsletter. Contact Karlynn Welling for more info.
Prayer Request:
  • Sister Linda Crapo will be having open-heart surgery on Friday, Nov. 13th. Please include her and her doctors in your individual and family prayers this week. I will give you an update as soon as I have one.
Announcements:
  • Wednesday, Nov. 11 @ 7:00pm - Young Women in Excellence - for all girls and their parents.
  • Thursday, Nov. 12 @ 7:00pm - Visiting Teaching Conference and Swap Meet Plan on coming a few minutes early to set your swap items out before the meeting begins. Anything you bring that does not get picked up by someone else, will be your responsibility to take home again. Please bring gift-worthy items only. NO JUNK! Wrapping paper will be provided, so you can get a start on Christmas gifts! Feel free to donate wrapping paper if you have leftovers from previous years. Throughout the evening, VT interviews will be conducted by companionship's. Please bring a small (bite-sized) appetizer or dessert to share. Child care is available if needed. Invite your friends! Please see the attached flyer.
  • Sunday, Nov. 15 @ 6:00pm - Priesthood Preview - for all boys turning 12 in 2010 and their parents.

Best wishes and goodbye to Karen Peeples and Judy Schooler who are both moving to Washington with their families. Thank you to all who helped them clean and pack.

Start saving for the Sister-to-Sister Swap Meet (see the newsletter for info).

Good news:

Sister Schlechter's son is home from his mission.

Sister Criddle was able to attend the Temple and was able to do work for Toni Allred

Sister Schlechter was glad her "other" brother came home to visit!!

Hello Sisters!!!

Announcements:
Caraleen Overson has food storage invoices for those that ordered from Walton. She can be reached at 209-8262.

Trunk or Treat is at 6:00pm on Halloween in the church parking lot. 3rd Ward is sponsoring a chili pot-luck. There will be a big tent to take the chili to, or you can bring cornbread instead.

Janet Sanbei has a foosball(?) table to give away. Call her at 789-0233.

Good news:

The Primary Program was wonderful.

Carol Stauffer is going to Hawaii for 8 days.

  • Kris Kearns – Her daughter is married!!! Thanks to all who have helped with preparing for her daughters wedding. (via email)

Announcements

  • Mother Education -The class will be Wednesday 10/14 at 10 am in the Primary Room. This week we will cover
    Allowance/teaching kids about money. We need mothers who have already been through this to come teach those who are in the midst of it! Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends (and kids).
  • Institute for ADULTS (30+) Thursdays at 7:30pm. The topic will be Revelations. Contact Brother or Sister Perret

  • Carol Stauffer - Going to her mom's 80th birthday party.

  • Kayla Wilson's baptism will be Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 6:15pm (not 6:30 as previously announce) all are welcomed.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 30 @ 10am - Mother Education - Potty Training at the church - Children welcome.
  • Institute for ADULTS (30+) Thursdays at 7:30pm. The topic will be Revelations. Contact Brother or Sister Perret
  • Join us for a presentation about"Rain Gutter Gardens" (growing gardens in rain gutters). Thursday, October 8th, 7pm.
  • Walton Feed order forms handed out – they are due October 11th to Sister Overson (209-8262).
  • There will be no newsletter next week, due to General Conference.

  • Kris Kearns – Despite rumor (which was true) the Kearns are not moving.
  • Janet Sanbei – Daughter sang at the football game, and has been excepted into the People to People program, she will be traveling to Australia.
  • Beth Richardson – Her mother has moved in fully and is living very close to her family.
  • Jenny Schlechter – Son is doing well in college – and may have learned a thing or two from his mom.

  • Diane Lowery - Blessed to have 2 new children placed with her family. Also, has a letter from Russia - from an Operation Christmas box.
  • Heather Kroll - Received a scholarship to do a specialized training for work.
  • Carol Stauffer - 24th wedding anniversary this week.
  • Diane Kaiser (Visiting from 3rd Ward) - All injuries are healing.
Announcements
  • For Young Women and Parents - Still working on reading the Book of Mormon. As you finish reading please add a paper link to the chain in the classroom. The Young Women activity for this week is Ice Skating - meet at the ice rink at 7pm.
